Leopold pushes tax cut for seniorsPublished 02/20/07
County Executive John R. Leopold is proposing a tax credit for some senior homeowners that would save them an average of $29 a year on property taxes. He referred to the plan that will be introduced to County Council tonight as a "down payment" on his campaign promise to ease the tax burden on the oldest of Anne Arundel County's seniors. He said his suggestion is the only "fiscally responsible way" to provide some tax relief for seniors at a time when the county faces a budget crunch.
