County receives $230,000 to create math, science magnet schoolPublished 07/23/07
County schools recently received nearly $600,000 to beef up their math, science and engineering programs.
The system received a $230,000 grant from the Maryland Department of Education to create a math and science magnet school, and a $358,000 grant from NASA to create after-school engineering clubs.
The magnet school will be a specialized program within a county high school, but Superintendent Kevin M. Maxwell hasn't decided which high school, said spokesman Bob Mosier.
