Slots referendum suffers another setbackPublished 11/02/07
Like a spiderweb, much of the legislation Gov. Martin O'Malley has put forward to solve the state's $1.5 billion deficit is connected and would be significantly changed if one strand is cut.
While House and Senate committees yesterday discussed several sweeping components of the governor's plan, the House Republican Caucus withdrew its support for sending slot machines to referendum.
