The Maryland Senate narrowly voted yesterday to approve an amended version of Gov. Martin O'Malley's tax plan, which Republicans decried as a huge and unnecessary measure that would raise taxes hundreds of millions of dollars above the governor's initial proposal. Find Us On Facebook
House members, meanwhile, were working on changes to the Senate's tax ideas, including different services covered under a proposed extension of the sales tax, which has been a difficult issue during the special session called by Mr. O'Malley to address a $1.7 billion deficit.
