Republicans in the Maryland Senate have chosen new leaders. The GOP caucus voted unanimously yesterday to elect Sen. Allan Kittleman as minority leader and Sen. Nancy Jacobs as the minority whip.
Mr. Kittleman represents Howard County and previously served as minority whip. He and Ms. Jacobs ran uncontested for the leadership posts after Sen. David Brinkley of Frederick County decided not to run again for minority leader. Ms. Jacobs, who represents Cecil and Harford counties, is the first female Republican whip. The GOP caucus also voted not to take a position on the slot machine gambling referendum.
