In recent weeks, I have been contacted by scores of individuals, businesses and organizations about my decision not to support the introduction of gambling casinos in Anne Arundel County.
From constituents to lobbyists, from the media to religious organizations, interest in my position has been inexplicably high. I suspect the reason is that Laurel Racetrack, the most likely venue for a slot machine palace, is in my County Council district.

While this "article" would be more suited to the opinion/editorial section, perhaps the editor has a sense of humor placing it right over the headline about 349 million dollars needed to be cut from the state budget. I'd be laughing out loud if it wasn't such a pitiful state of affairs.
