ANNAPOLIS — A technology entrepreneur who wants to acquire Pimlico Race Course and Laurel Park said Wednesday he believes slots machines are a "cancer" to thoroughbred horse racing, and he wouldn't implement them, if he acquires ownership.
Halsey Minor, who co-founded Internet company CNet in 1992, said he wants to acquire Magna Entertainment Corp.'s U.S. operations. Magna, which is having financial problems, owns Pimlico and Laurel.
