HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Maryland's prison agency said Wednesday it is consolidating some of its prerelease operations in an effort to reduce overtime costs. Find Us On Facebook
By concentrating inmates who are nearing release at fewer minimum-security facilities, the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services aims to free up correctional officers for transfer to medium- and maximum-security prisons with high overtime costs, agency spokesman Rick Binetti said.
