Pipkin proposes Bay Bridge 'Bill of Rights'Published 01/08/09
A Queen Anne's County state senator said he plans to propose a Bill of Rights for Bay Bridge users in the General Assembly session that starts next week. State Sen. E.J. Pipkin, R-Elkton, also appeared before the Board of Public Works yesterday to renew his calls for an independent inspection of the structure. "As an elected official we have a responsibility when we come across a situation that we perceive as very dangerous that we yell from the rooftops," Mr. Pipkin told the board, which includes Gov. That PROVES Mr. Pipklin's case: if there ARE annual inspections under the state's "very strong inspection program", how were the corroded fasteners which required "emergency" repairs overlooked? Maybe the Capital can do a followup on this article by raising that very question to the Secretary of Transportation...
