Sources Say: Sheriff gets to be a judge - for a day

Most police officers would get in trouble if they put on a black robe, climbed behind a court bench and started hearing cases, but Sheriff Ron Bateman got away with it this week in District Court in Annapolis.

Photo courtesy of the county Sheriff's Department Sheriff Ron Bateman donned a judge's robe Wednesday to preside over Teen Court in Annapolis. Bateman helped found the program in 1998.

On Wednesday, Bateman presided over Teen Court, a program designed for first-time juvenile offenders who have been charged with nonviolent misdemeanor crimes. He heard eight cases ranging from shoplifting to possession of drug paraphernalia to assault.

How do you get them to do that water-boarding ?
