Council puts off changes to slots bill

The County Council last night delayed any potential changes to the bill that paves the way for a casino near the Arundel Mills mall, saying members preferred to have all councilmen at the dais before the issue is put to a vote.

"It's my belief that the full council should be here not only to vote on the bill, but also on the amendments pertaining to the bill," said Councilman Daryl Jones, a Democrat whose district includes the neighborhood that developers are eyeing for a 200,000-square-foot entertainment and gambling complex.
