Following the approval of a furlough plan for almost 70,000 executive branch employees in the state government, legislative and judiciary leaders are finalizing their own initiatives to share in Maryland's financial woes.
House Speaker Michael E. Busch, D-Annapolis, and Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller Jr., D-Calvert, announced yesterday that legislative branch employees will undergo the same furloughs as their colleagues in the executive agencies.
