Busch wants laws that gang up on gangsPublished 10/18/09
House Speaker Michael E. Busch has begun meeting with state, law-enforcement and education officials to create legislation to better combat gangs throughout Maryland. An informal meeting was held last week to talk about a subject that has gained primacy in Anne Arundel County since the May killing of 14-year-old Christopher Jones in Crofton. Police have said two teens who were part of a local gang assaulted and killed Jones while he rode his bike near his home. This is a positive step. Perhaps the next positive step in controlling "gangs" can be term limits in the legislature. Mr. Busch and Mr. Miller lead two of the most experienced "gangs" in Maryland.
