The state's slot-machine commission wants to take action on the Anne Arundel County proposal by the middle of December, sending a message to the County Council to finally decide whether to allow slots. The Video Lottery Facility Location Commission said yesterday that it wants to make its decision on Cordish Cos.' plan to put 4,750 machines at Arundel Mills mall in Hanover by its Dec. 17 meeting. County Council members said they anticipate reaching a decision on whether to zone the mall for slots in a Dec. 7 meeting, a necessary step since state law requires any slots facility to conform to local zoning.
