Mental health advocates rally for funds, alcohol tax

ANNAPOLIS - More than 300 health providers, policy makers, and citizens concerned or affected by mental illness rallied on Lawyer's Mall Wednesday afternoon protesting any further cuts in the mental health budget and supporting a bill that would tax alcohol to benefit mental health causes.

The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene lost $56 million over the past 13 months, causing more than 100 job losses and affecting services for many people with mental illness, said Herb Cromwell, executive director of the Community Behavioral Health Association of Maryland.

Dover is not crime free - 2010-01-22 15:43:01

While Dover is safer than the Wash/Balt metropolitan area, it still not that safe:

Dover, DE, violent crime, on a scale from 1 (low crime) to 10, is 5. Violent crime is composed of four offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. The US average is 3.

Dover, DE, property crime, on a scale from 1 (low) to 10, is 2. Property crime includes the offenses of burglary, larceny-theft, motor vehicle theft, and arson. The object of the theft-type offenses is the taking of money or property, but there is no force or threat of force against the victims. The US average is 3.

It's great that Delaware decides to freeload by imposing the country's highest highway tolls on hard-working east coast travelers. I'd be angrier with you all, but having to live in Delaware is punishment enough.

why, why, why thank god I moved to De.and have no taxes like I said in a previous post I saved enough in tax to buy groceries for a long time.but your people want to fight the slots in arundel mall because of so-so crime it's already there, funny we have no crime in dover or harrington and like I said before harrington is on the state fair grounds and also w/horse tracks...but we are glad to get your money.
