Incumbent Democrats with decades of government experience will try to keep the Annapolis area in their hands this November while Republicans try to capitalize on an unsettled political atmosphere.

With only about 2,000 votes separating a pillar of the State House power structure from the last-place finisher in the 2006 House elections, House Speaker Michael E. Busch, Del. Virginia Clagett and state Sen. John Astle are going to work together to try to broaden the gap this year in District 30.
