The state Board of Revenue Estimates unveiled its latest numbers yesterday in Annapolis, with an increase of $57 million for fiscal 2011 and a slight fall of only $8.7 million for fiscal 2012.
The results are in stark contrast to past years when hundreds of millions of dollars would routinely drop off the state's books and necessitate plenty of budget cuts.
