It was supposed to be a marquee mid-season matchup, pitting the top-ranked and county leading Arundel girls basketball team against No. 3 Southern in Harwood. But the Bulldogs fell victim to the Wildcats' relentless defense and massive height advantage, shooting well below 50 percent and falling, 78-46.
"Shooting was really the difference tonight, theirs was phenomenal and ours was horrible," said Southern coach Linda Kilpatrick, whose team was held without a field goal in the second quarter and made just 11 in the game.
