Zack Gassman is one of the most athletic players on the Annapolis boys basketball team. Coaches said that getting over the hump and having that breakout game would come soon enough for the 6-foot-4 senior forward.

All he needed was a little extra motivation and not having his coach on the sideline may have played into that. Gassman scored a season-high 18 points and pulled down seven rebounds to lead the third-ranked Panthers to a 63-56 victory in front of a packed house at Severna Park last night.
