Green secures title for St. Mary's

OWINGS MILLS - Fred Green's first two appearances at the Maryland Independent Schools Championships were relatively short and largely uneventful but the same can't be said about this weekend's performance.

Coming into the McDonogh-based private school wrestling tournament as the fourth seed, the St. Mary's junior swept his way to the 135-pound title with three wins over higher-seeded opponents, including a 4-3 victory over third-seeded Josh Bressler of Progressive Christian Academy for the 135-pound title.
