It would be a great idea for the county schools to become a part of the National Football Foundation's Play It Smart program. The program supports the employment of academic coaches to help football players maintain the scholastic standards that they need to get into college. Play It Smart is something that seems to be needed in this county where relatively few football players go on to play as collegians. County schools interested in getting that program have just over one week to make application for the program that would definitely benefit the student-athletes here.
