Nick Elko did everything he could do to put Arundel into the county championship game, and it was just enough.
Elko hit a solo home run in the second inning and was hit by a pitch to force in the go-ahead run in the 11th to send the Wildcats to a 4-1 victory over South River yesterday to clinch a berth in the county championship game.
"He's clutch for us," said Arundel reliever Steve Jenkins, who pitched four scoreless innings in relief to collect the win.
Arundel (13-4) will play for its third consecutive title against Northeast at 7 p.m. Thursday at Joe Cannon Stadium. Northeast beat Old Mill, 3-2, last night....
