Baseball Roundup:Hines, Gambril hurl Southern no-hitterPublished 05/14/08
Senior B.J. Hines and freshman Ryan Gambril combined to no-hit Central, as Southern advanced to today's 2A South Region baseball quarterfinals with a 15-1 win over Central of Prince George's County yesterday.
Hines pitched the first three innings, striking out five and walking two. Gambril pitched the next two innings, striking out every batter he faced.
Junior Kevin Walker was 3-for-4 with two RBIs, and junior Robbie Woods was 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI for the Bulldogs, who face second-seeded Gwynn Park today. Southern (4-14) 323 70 - 15 13 0 Central 001 00 - 1 0 3 WP: Hines (2-4)....
