Spalding moves on; Arundel eliminatedPublished 05/15/08
Senior pitcher Jason Patten kept Archbishop Spalding in it long enough for Eddie Palmer to hit a walk-off single to defeated Mount St. Joseph in the second round of the MIAA A Conference baseball tournament. Patten (6-1) went the full eight for Spalding, allowing just five hits and striking out 11 in the process. Palmer's winning hit came with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning as he drove in senior Adam Summerfelt, who was 2-for-4.
