After the Chesapeake softball team spent five innings not cashing in on scoring chances, Kelly Hickman took things into her own hands to put the defending 4A state champions right where they want to be - in a region final against Broadneck.
The second baseman blasted a two-run home run to left field off Arundel's Kayla Martinez in the sixth inning to break a scoreless tie, leading the Cougars to a 3-0 win over the Wildcats in their 4A East Region semifinal in Pasadena.
