Severna Park's Ramsay reaches final tryout slot for U-16 Team USAPublished 07/08/08

Alex Ramsay, who will be a junior this fall at Severna Park High School, beat out 72 other players in Florida in the latest round of cuts for the under-16 national baseball team. Ramsay is playing for the Maryland Monarchs this summer.Alex Ramsay has always worked hard to cultivate his baseball talent. Now the Severna Park catcher will be able to see if that talent stacks up against the rest of the country. Ramsay emerged from last week's Under-16 national championships in Jupiter, Fla., as one of the final 36 players being considered for the U-16 Team USA. "It's every player's goal to be chosen for the Top 36," Ramsay said. "It's exciting to know that I can call myself one of the so-called elite 16-year-olds in the country."
