Arundel's Walter ready to relax after 37 yearsPublished 07/15/08
After nearly four decades with Arundel High School, the last 27 years as the athletic director, Bernie Walter announced his retirement yesterday.

"It was time to stop," said Walter, who ended his 37-year career as a health education teacher and physical education department chair at Arundel on Friday. Walter had been pulling triple-duty as the athletic director, teacher and the Wildcats' baseball coach since 1981.
