A probe into the $10.8 million contract to install 11 artificial turf fields at county high schools turned up little information, delayed progress on the next three fields, and concluded that a controversial deal with Sunny Acres Landscaping was legally executed. However, the County Council-ordered investigation released yesterday by County Auditor Teresa Sutherland found the county improperly awarded a consulting contract to AmDyne Inc. through an open-ended agreement, a practice that dates to 1979 and is currently under revision.
