Broadneck eases to fifth state volleyball crown

The Broadneck volleyball team confirmed it on the court.

For the second consecutive year, and the fifth time in the last nine years, the Bruins captured the MPSSAA Class 4A state championship, dispatching Thomas Johnson in four games at the University of Maryland's Ritchie Coliseum last night.

The Bruins won the first two games, 25-18, 25-21, before suffering a 23-25 hiccup in the third game. They put all notion of a Patriots comeback to bed with an emphatic 25-12 triumph in the fourth game.
