Prep Boys Basketball: Belt's 27 points lead Southern to title gamePublished 12/30/08
Brandon Belt hit six 3-pointers and scored 27 points during three quarters of work to lift Southern into the Colonial Electric Classic finals with a 74-44 victory over Calverton last night. Jimmy Gibbons collected nine points, four assists and three steals, and Andrew Bishop scored 10 for Southern, which plays Oakton (Va.) at 7 tonight in the finals. Jamal Walters scored 16 points for Kent Island in a 59-40 loss to Oakton (1-7).
