Glen Burnie senior Danny Murphy's rise to prominence has been a tale of steady progression and hard work, mixed with a tremendous basketball IQ.

Senior center Danny Murphy is averaging 16.9 points and 7.4 rebounds for Glen Burnie this season.Murphy has been on Glen Burnie coach Mike Rudd's radar ever since they first met at a camp several years ago. Murphy's older brother, Sean, caught Rudd's eye as well, but he was already playing at Cardinal Gibbons. However, Danny, who was attending Arthur Slade Regional Catholic School at the time, grew to fall in love with the atmosphere the Gophers provided. "Even though my older brothers went to private school, I decided to go to Glen Burnie," Murphy said....
