Kendall Farnham won her second consecutive Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland B Conference cross country championship yesterday at Oregon Ridge in Hunt Valley.
Farnham edged St. Mary's Colleen Randolph, who helped the Saints dethrone Severn as the IAAM champion.
Farnham finished the course in 21 minutes, 2.7 seconds - just three ticks faster than Randolph. The two finished first and second, respectively, last year.
Mary Reiser (21:37.40), Leigh Ruland (21:57.10), Meghan Toomey (22:06.80) and Caroline Reiser (22:35.90) placed fifth, sixth, eighth and 10th, respectively to lead St. Mary's to a 27-73 victory over Severn for the B Conference title.
The Admirals, with Margot Farnham's 22:44.10 and Maddie Zuschnitt's 23:31.60 clocking 12th and 20th, respectively, finished 32 points ahead of the Institute of Notre Dame (105).
Annapolis Area Christian School's Anna Sandacz (23:20.8) took 16th.
Powered by Sam Dennis' 17th-place 22:07.20, Archbishop Spalding captured fourth in the A Conference championships.
John Carroll boasted four of the top nine finishers to pick up a 33-36 victory over McDonogh. The Cavaliers (122), finishing 40 points behind Notre Dame Prep, had all their runners cross the line in the top 36: Elisa Heacock (22:21.40; 21st), Kaye Philbin (22:25.70; 23rd), Caitlin Anson (23:02.40; 30th), Alyssa Dennis (23:08; 31st), Cara McNellis (23:08.40; 32nd) and Adrienne Shoots (23:19.50; 36th).

MEADE 6, KENWOOD 0: Yumi Kim scored four goals and added a pair of assists to lead the Mustangs to a 6-0 victory over Kenwood in the opening round of the Class 4A North Region playoffs yesterday. Kim, a transfer from Korea, scored twice in each half to build upon Karen Million's goal 69 seconds into the game.
Meade, which received a second-half score from Stevia Morales and didn't allow a shot, will play Dulaney at 7 tonight in the quarterfinals.

Stephanie Harryman recorded her third shutout without facing a shot, and she'll take on the Gladiators at 3:30 p.m. today.

BOYS' LATIN 3, ARCHBISHOP SPALDING 1: The Lakers handed the Cavaliers a season-ending, 23-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-19 loss in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference quarterfinals yesterday.
Max Schroeder finished the season with 257 assists, 30 kills and 33 blocks, and Kameron Beans posted a team-high 196 kills, 31 aces, 25 winners and 23 blocks for points to go along with his 216 digs and 173 serve receptions.
Zach Rombach had 217 digs and 221 receptions to lead the Cavaliers (5-10), and Nik Vreelan added 94 kills, 34 aces and 20 blocks for points. Bryan Somers collected 140 digs, 34 kills and 33 serves for points.
