Old Mill (8-1) at Broadneck (7-2) Tomorrow, 6:30 p.m., Knight Stadium
This game will decide both posturing and inclusion in the Class 4A East Region postseason. An Old Mill win could vault the Patriots into the second seed, ahead of North Point, meaning a home game.
For the Bruins, who are in fifth, a win could get them back into the playoffs after a brief hiatus in 2008. They'll need North County to beat Annapolis to make that happen, though.
North County (6-3) at Annapolis (7-2) Tomorrow, 6:30 p.m., Laramore Field
Already eliminated from Class 4A East Region playoff contention, the Knights are looking to hand the Panthers the same fate.
If the Panthers - who are on a four-game winning streak and currently in the fourth position - win, they'll hold onto the fourth seed and likely meet Arundel in the first round of the playoffs.
Kent Island (9-0) at Q. Anne's (9-0) Tomorrow, 7 p.m., Queen Anne's
The Buccaneers still have a sour taste in their mouths after dropping a 3-0 decision last year to the Lions to close the regular season and then falling, 30-6, in the Class 2A East Region championship.
Both teams have an explosive offense, with Kent Island scoring 340 points through nine games (37.78 average) and Queen Anne's 394 (43.78 average). The Lions have the defensive advantage, giving up only 23 points - 2.56 per game and five shutouts - while the Buccaneers surrendered 68 points and collected two shutouts.
With both teams already clinching a playoff berth in the Class 2A East Region, at stake will be the top spot in the region as well as the Bayside North Conference championship.
Southern (6-3) at Arundel (9-0) Tomorrow, 6:30 p.m., Carroll Field
The Wildcats are already in the postseason but will be trying to hold onto the top spot in the Class 4A East Region points standings. The Bulldogs, after a 20-0 loss to Annapolis last week, fell out of the top four in the Class 2A South Region and need a win to get themselves back in the playoff mix.
Chesapeake (0-9) at G. Burnie (1-8) Tomorrow, 6:30 p.m., Wheyland Field
This finale pits two teams that have yielded 737 points collectively, with the Gophers giving up 415 while the Cougars have yielded 322. Conversely, Glen Burnie has managed to score 100 points, while Chesapeake has only 26. The Gophers have been shut out twice, and the Cougars have failed to score in five of the last six games.
South River (4-5) at Meade (2-7) Tomorrow, 6:30 p.m., Rifenberg Field
Respectability is at stake here as the Seahawks can manage a .500 season with a win after starting the year 2-0. The Mustangs will say goodbye to the athleticism of defensive standout Mwanza Wamulumba.
Sev. Park (3-6) at Northeast (1-8) Tomorrow, 6:30 p.m., Zastrow Field
The Falcons battled Old Mill before succumbing to a 49-25 loss last week, which marked the third most points allowed by the Patriots this year. The Eagles have struggled since their Week 2 over Chesapeake and have been blanked, 98-0, in its past two games.
AACS (7-2) at Lutheran (3-6) Tomorrow, 4 p.m., Saints Field
The Eagles, who have won six in a row, made history again after last week's 27-7 win over St. Vincent Pallotti, netting the school its first Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association C Conference championship in football. They'll travel to Baltimore to face the Saints, who they knocked off, 27-0, three games ago.
St. John's (2-7) at Spalding (8-1) Tomorrow, 7 p.m., Spalding
The Cavaliers rebounded from a 20-0 loss to Boys' Latin with a 30-19 victory over John Carroll to clinch a berth in the MIAA B Conference final. A win over the struggling Vikings of St. John's Catholic Prep, losers of five of the last six games, could prove to be an effective warm-up for a rematch with the conference-leading Lakers (9-0).
St. Mary's (5-4) at Severn (1-8) Saturday, 2:30 p.m., Lynch Field
The annual Severn River Classic title is at stake. The Saints have won the past two by a combined score of 83-12, while the Admirals were victorious in the previous three, with games decided by three and four points in 2005 and 2006, respectively.
