Teams that win championships can usually point to one game during the season in which they had to overcome adversity. That game might end up being last night's for the Arundel football team.

Arundel’s Joseph Blackwell tumbles into the end zone for a touchdown against Annapolis in Friday night’s Class 4A East Region playoff game. The Wildcats triumphed over the elements and the Panthers, 18-6.On an evening when a stingy Annapolis defense combined with deplorable playing conditions - a mixture of wind and rain - almost provided the formula for an upset, the Wildcats' defense proved to be the difference in an 18-6 victory in a Class 4A East Region semifinal.
