its great there's blue ribbon schools in Severna Park, but when you ask about other parts of the county - like south county - and why there's no blue ribbon schools, administrators like Assistant Superintendent Lynn Whittington and regional director Lorna Leone insist that the Blue Ribbon designation is not important. Why, then, to residents prize such a designation and the AA Schools promote it so much when schools are Blue Ribbon? Its because they discriminate by how they allocate their resources, and they get skittish when people figure it out.
