Amid the gently rolling hills and cornfields of south county is Lothian. This is a place of fresh air, farms, horses grazing in green pastures and houses with lots of land. It's pastoral and idyllic.

It's also home to the Guida family - Bridgette, Bill and 2-year-old Joey. "When people hear us say we live in Lothian, Maryland, they say, 'Lothian? Where is Lothian?' " Ms. Guida wrote in an e-mail requesting her home be considered for Home of the Week. "We are 3.5 miles from the Chesapeake Bay and about 25 miles from D.C."
