World Music Drumming class is a big hitPublished 12/09/04
Kenya Mosby rocked back in her chair, closed her eyes, and moved her head side to side as she beat out a tune on the conga drum. The 12-year-old's only been playing for a short time, but she's very enthusiastic about honing her skills. The other Annapolis Middle School students taking "World Music Drumming" with her every Monday afternoon are just as jazzed about the instrument. "I like it," Kenya said during a break in class this week. "It helps you (learn about the) kind of music they play in Africa. It's good to learn the drum. It makes me relaxed.
