Most artists create works. Ronald Markman of St. Margarets gave birth to an entire world. The brightly colored, cartoonish figures that populate the imaginary kingdom of Mukfa are on display for the first time in Annapolis. "Heroes, Villains and Mermaids: The Fantastical World of Ronald Markman" opened yesterday at the Mitchell Gallery at St. John's College. It runs until April 22. "The community is going to love it," said gallery director Hydee Schaller. "But it does require an open mind."
