Square dancing enjoys a loyal county followingPublished 10/02/05
Call it love at first dance. Joyce Berkebile and Bob Lorenzo became partners in life by becoming partners in square dancing. The Heritage Harbour and Pasadena residents met through a square dancing club about 1½ years ago, and now go to dances together. "The popular misconception is that square dancing is country western or hillbilly, hokey," Ms. Berkebile said. "It's not that at all. It's good, clean fun. There's no alcohol, no smoking, no bad language (and) it's good exercise. It's a way to meet new people. It's exciting and it's a challenge."
