Jim Toomey came from a family of engineers, and part of him always figured he’d end up wearing a suit and commuting to the office. He graduated from college with an engineering degree, but he ended up drawing on other talents for his career, literally. These days, he only wears a suit for weddings and funerals and going to the office means walking upstairs in his house. The Annapolis resident is the creator of “Sherman’s Lagoon,” a comic strip that appears in 225 newspapers worldwide, including The Sunday Capital. The main character is Sherman the shark.
