70-year-old undertakes cycling adventures

Sean Sweeney apparently doesn't like to do things halfway.

When he jogged, he wasn't content just running around the block; he competed in marathons. When his knees gave out, he switched to cycling, but again, he didn't just pedal around town. He toured the country, lugging a tent and all his gear behind him on a cart.

Mr. Sweeney, 70, of Bay Ridge, just completed his fourth major biking excursion, a trip with a group of about a dozen other cyclists that started in early June and ended late last week.
