Jacob Bancks, Kristin Kuster, Narong Prangcharoen and Dan Visconti will try to capture it in music. They're the finalists in the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra's Annapolis Charter 300 Young Composers Competition, and each is charged with writing an original work inspired by the city.
"I'm very excited," said Mr. Visconti, 25, of Washington, D.C. "It's nice to have a commission like this. It's a city I do feel I have some connection to."
