Call it horse sense. Christa Stibolt of Severna Park has been riding horses most of her life, so when she started bringing her children along to watch several years ago, they wanted to saddle up, too.

Logan Yff, 11, of St. Margarets, adjusts the bridle on Nickers before riding at her aunt's Lothian farm.Now, Ms. Stibolt and her daughter, Olivia, 11, both compete in equestrian events. They practice daily during the summer. Her son, Weber, 13, used to compete as well, but has stopped in favor of other sports. He still rides, though.
