Curtain rises on new theater troupePublished 07/20/08
Ron Giddings and Christina Enoch, longtime friends and founders of Standing O Productions, discuss their plans for the troupe during a break in last weekend’s rehearsal. “On the Twentieth Century” opens Friday and runs through Aug. 3.Only insomniacs need apply for the kind of schedule Ron Giddings keeps. The 27-year-old Severna Park resident serves as artistic director of Colonial Players, holds down a job waiting tables, and is completing a graduate degree in arts management. And ... oh, yes, he's formed his own theater company. Standing O Productions premieres its first play, "On the Twentieth Century" at Anne Arundel Community College on Friday. The musical, which won five Tony Awards, is set in 1932 aboard the fabled 20th Century Limited train, and centers around the efforts of a down-on-his-luck-producer desperately trying...
