Q: My son is disabled and I help him with all his paperwork. He has received a letter that he is eligible for help to pay for his Medicare Part D drug coverage. However, the Department of Health and Human Services has auto-enrolled him in a plan that does not cover his medications as well as the one he currently has. He will wind up paying more for his medications than he does now. Can I help him change to his former plan? A: Yes, you can. Since he is eligible for Extra Help, he can change plans any time he needs to in order to allow him to gain the maximum benefit from his Part D coverage. DHHS...
