I've actually been harvesting the tomatoes in my garden for a good month or two, but the bulk of the crop is ripening now. My family savors our harvest, knowing with each ephemeral bite that the fresh, bold, sweet and juicy taste of a summer tomato will soon be impossible to replicate.
Each tomato we eat introduces us to a new taste sensation, each bite offering a unique something that must be enjoyed for the sheer pleasure found only in that exact moment.
