Father-daughter duo hopes autistic children benefit from soupPublished 11/06/08
Alan and Eileen Magan hope to dish out a little health and happiness to autistic children and their families.

Eileen and Alan Magan of Chesapeake Gardens Café in Glen Burnie take spoonfuls of two of the dairy-free, gluten-free soups they’re marketing to children with autism. They plan on tweaking the recipes after a taste-testing event at the restaurant this weekend.The father-daughter team is working on a line of gluten-free, dairy-free soups aimed at improving the diets of these children and maybe improving their cognition as well - though the latter point is a subject of much debate. After spending six months ironing out the recipes for five soups - chicken rice, minestrone, beef vegetable, fish chowder with tomatoes, and fish chowder with coconut milk - the Magans are ready for a taste-tasting.
