Lots of people claim to have encyclopedic knowledge of a subject. David White has an encyclopedia to prove it.

The Masqueraders’ production of the Shakespeare play opens at the end of the week and serves as a literal platform for Dr. White’s goodbye to audiences and the institution. He retiring in January.
David White, who had directed the Masqueraders troupe at the Naval Academy is retiring. His last performance is as Prospero in "The Tempest."
The veteran Naval Academy English professor was an editorial consultant for a massive tome called "Shakespeare A to Z" several years back. It's just one of hundreds of classic books that fill his office, a Sampson Hall space he'll soon leave for good.
Dr. White, who has taught for 38 years (28 at the academy), is retiring at the beginning of January. "I'm worn out, to be quite honest," he said. "I'm ready to move on and do other things."
