I have an alarming tendency to put things off until the last minute. Maybe that trait had something to do with my choice of journalism as a career. You always face some kind of deadline in the news business. When I was young, all book reports and term papers were written the night before the due date. Nothing like a ticking clock to keep you focused. Cramming was the only method for studying for tests - I wanted to make sure the material remained fresh in my mind.
