More county residents opting for flu vaccinePublished 01/02/09
An increasing number of Anne Arundel County residents are opting for flu vaccinations this year, despite a national survey indicating a decline, local health officials said. The National Foundation for Infectious Diseases surveyed 4,000 people and found that nearly 30 percent had not received a flu vaccination. More than half of those surveyed said they had no intention of getting the vaccine. The survey is the first of its kind to measure self-reported influenza vaccination rates during a current flu season, according to the foundation.
